The Owl’s Nest is the name of our community workshop(s), but the workshop does not stand on its own. We operate as a project under the IRADIS Foundation/ ASK-Solutions, a Dutch foundation that connects technology, knowledge sharing, digital self-reliance and (local) wellbeing work.
Within the foundation we run practical projects that help people regain control over their tools, devices and environment. Sometimes that is very tangible (repairing, making, learning), and sometimes it is digital (documentation, software and open knowledge). The underlying idea is always the same: knowledge and technology should help people move forward.
The Owl’s Nest brings that mission to street level: a place where you can drop in, settle for a moment, and work on something in a small, calm setting. And because The Owl’s Nest can exist at multiple locations, it feels like one whole, while each place has its own function and possibilities.
More background and our organisation details can be found on our foundation’s website.
The foundation is the backbone behind the workshop: it enables us to organise volunteering, guidance, projects and collaborations in a stable way. The Owl’s Nest is one of the ways we deliver our mission in practice, alongside activities that happen (partly) online or at other locations.

The Owl’s Nest consists of multiple locations, each with its own role and possibilities.
From renovations and repairs to technical projects and learning tracks.
