Volunteering can take many different forms. Sometimes someone helps with a practical job for a few hours, sometimes knowledge or experience is shared, and sometimes a longer collaboration develops around an activity or project.
What became possible in these examples often came about through different kinds of contributions complementing one another: time, knowledge and practical help, materials and equipment and financial contributions. Sometimes one of these was enough, but often people, resources and practical possibilities came together.
A contribution does not have to be large to make a difference. A part can make a repair possible, a few hours of help can move a job forward, and specific knowledge can solve exactly the problem where someone else has become stuck. The practical examples show what such contributions can lead to.
They therefore show not only what was done, but also how people and available resources came together to make something possible.
